Activities
As
an "arm" of the ICCP, the Foundation works independently
to perform various activities to keep current with the technological
and industrial needs of the IS profession. Examples of the various
activities performed are as follow:
Conducting of surveys to determine the type
and level of instruction in the computing field provided by various
institutions. The purpose of such surveys is to assist educational
organizations in meeting the training and education needs of the
information technology industry.
Developing a set of guidelines and procedures
which can be used to monitor legislative activities that relate
to the computing profession. Such guidelines are to be used in
preparing or reviewing potential legislation related to the computing
and information technology field.
The
Foundation also conducts opinion
surveys to acquire
certificate holders' opinions of the appropriateness a nd value
of the certification examinations.
Research
Pursuits
The
Foundation has conducted surveys and research in a variety of areas
related to our industry at the request of the ICCP Board of Directors
or suggestions submitted by people in the industry. Foundation projects
must have universal usefulness and be designed to improve professionals
as well as the organizations they serve. Foundation programs also
show the public how certification benefits society in many ways.
