American Council on Education
The American Council on Education's College Credit
Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT) has evaluated and recommended
college credits for ICCP examinations. The American Council on
Education, the major coordinating body for all the nation's higher
education institutions, seeks to provide leadership and a unifying
voice on a key higher education issues and to influence public
policy through advocacy, research and program initiatives.
Universities and Colleges
The ICCP offers new programs
for colleges and universities.
a. Outcome assessment
of programs (this is especially valuable for those colleges using
the IS2002 Model Curriculum from ACM, AIS & AITP). How well
do your students learning outcomes match with the planned teaching
delivery? Get a detailed analysis from the ICCP and Center for Computing
Education Research.
b. Knowledge gap analysis for students
and for the college: You can identify if gaps exist either in student
learning or in college program format and teaching. This is a valuable
tool for re-accreditation and for program improvement.
c. National Competency Comparision:
How do your college students measure up against the best students
in the courntry? This allows you to compare your students' performance
against the performance of some 700 of the top students at the AITP
National Collegiate Conference Competitions on the same ICCP examinations.
d. Special Discounts Programs: Colleges
may pre-buy the ICCP examinations at a discount and retail them
to their students for the same or different cost. Some colleges
include the examinations within the initial registration fee. For
example: Dakota
University; Seminole
Community College
Colleges who are testing students for the first
time using the ICCP Examinations may offer these examinations
to their students on a "Pay if you Pass" basis. To get
more information on this program, please contact the ICCP
Office.
The ICCP encourages colleges and universities to establish
and develop a Certified Computing Professional review course to
be offered to their clients. The ICCP will assist colleges and corporate
training departments to put together such programs.
In many cases the ICCP will come out and co-host a
regional workshop 3-5 days in duration preparing future instructors
of review courses so they can take the examinations to become certified.
The ICCP promotes the requirement that a CCP Review
course instructor or Professional Development Review course leader
be a current Certified Computing Professional.
Contact the office at ICCP if you are interested in
establishing such a program at your college. Phone: 1-800-843-8227.
