Internet Based Testing
For test sites with reliable internet access, only:
The ICCP provides an internet based delivery of its'
examinations. However, a test proctor/technical support person is
required at the test site. This person may be a certified holder,
professional engineer, doctor, teacher, or similarly attributed
individual acceptable to the ICCP.
In most cases teachers administer this test to their
students, who are often closely seated together in a computer lab.
There is strong security around the test since all test items are
scrambled randomly and this reduces any chance of cheating during
the test delivery.
An Internet based ICCP test is accessed from a secure
web server and test items are transmitted in an encrypted format.
The encrypted test results of each test taker are stored on the
web server.
A person taking this test may choose to have his/her
scores marked online at the end of the test.
Additionally a test taker may elect to have an assessment
document emailed to her/himself by providing their email address
to .
At the beginning of the test the test taker(s) have
to enter in a password. The proctor is also required to enter in
her/his password to initiate the examination. The proctor is to
keep her/his password secret and protected, even as she/he enters
it to execute the examination over the internet. Full instructions
are mailed to each proctor well in advance of the examination date/time.
The proctor's role is to verify the physical identity
of the test taker and to ensure that the examination is correctly
administered. The proctor must be available at the start of the
test and during the entire delivery of the examination.
Signed documents confirming conformance to the testing
format are returned to the ICCP office on completion of the examinations.
The ICCP reserves the right to void any examination result which
occurs in violation of its testing requirements.
All appeals are forwarded to the Director of Certification
for resolution.
