Testing

ICCP Testing Can be done anywhere in the world, with an approved ICCP Proctor to verify physical identity and supervise/invigilate the delivery of the examination.

Proctor Guidelines:

EXAM Supervision/Proctoring or Exam Invigilation Guidelines

Whenever possible, an ICCP representative proctors exams. The ICCP's exam testing locations are located in most cities in North America and at many post-secondary institutions and cooperating agencies across Canada & the USA (referred to as the Exam Proctor Network). Contact the office@iccp.org to arrange for your examination(s).

Exam Testing Locations

Exam takers are not required to use the exam testing locations closest to them. Exam takers may write their exam closer to home provided they arrange for a volunteer who meets the proctor guidelines, below, and who is willing to proctor/supervise their exam.

International Exam takers

International exam takers and North-American exam takers living overseas, write their exams at an approved ICCP test testing location, or a post-secondary institution or at a US or Canadian Embassy. These examinations may be taken in paper & pencil format or if suitable arrangements can be made using a laptop or desktop computer. Internet access is NOT required.

Proctors

Whenever possible, ICCP representatives proctor exams. Exam takers may arrange for a volunteer proctor. A proctor is an individual authorized by ICCP to oversee the writing of an exam by an ICCP exam taker. This person must meet specific guidelines (below) and be willing to supervise the exam taker. The ICCP reserves the right to reject proposed proctors. Contact office@iccp.org or phone 847.299.4227 or 800.843.8227 if you require assistance in determining an appropriate proctor.

Proctor Guidelines

1. To eliminate conflict-of-interest problems, relatives, friends, neighbors, co-workers, persons living at the same address of the exam taker, or other ICCP exam takers, cannot proctor exams. The exception is if the training department of your company is involved and somebody from the human resources or training group, who normally supervises examinations, is prepared to supervise your examination in the workplace.

2. Exam takers must normally write their exams at an accredited, post-secondary institution such as a community college or a technical institute. If a college or technical institute is not accessible, exam takers may write at an educational institution such as a high school. We would prefer to work through the registrar’s department at that college, university or school to set up the examination delivery.

3. Exams should be written under the supervision of a professor, teacher, or an authorized proctor. Proctors can be CCP holders: professionals who ascribe to the ICCP code of ethics, code of conduct and code of good practice. Typically proctors are doctors, teachers, professors, supervisory administrative staff from the registrar’s department, lawyers, engineers, and administrative computing staff.

4. Where none of these options are available, exam takers should contact office@iccp.org . A staff member will help you determine a suitable location and acceptable proctor.

Requesting an Exam

All proctored exams for ICCP Examinations are requested via email, mail or fax, using the ICCP Examination Application Form www.iccp.org/iccpnew/applicationform.pdf

Exam takers who are writing at one of the authorized ICCP Learning Centers should contact the ICCP office first to pay for the examination before contacting an ICCP Test Center. Exam takers must request their exam a minimum of 15 business days before the date on which they wish to write. Before exam takers submit their Exam Request Form to the ICCP, they must contact their proctor, and reserve a day and time to write their exam. Exam takers do not require permission to write an exam. It is recommended, however, that they discuss their preparedness to write an exam with the ICCP office before taking the exam. Exam takers are required to write their exam on / or before their contract date.

ICCP ships exams to proctors by mail. Please ensure your exam request allows sufficient time for exam preparation and delivery. Exam takers writing their exams in North America must request their exam a minimum of 15 business days before the date on which they wish to write. For exams proctored overseas, additional time (5-10 days) must be allowed for shipment.

Exam takers may request an exam using one of the following methods.

• Email: office@iccp.org
• Fax: 847-299-4280
• Mail: ICCP, 2350 E. Devon Ave., Suite 115, Des Plaines, IL 60018-4610, USA

Please note that exams are not normally shipped between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day and additional shipping expenses may apply if required during that time.

Exam Proctoring/Invigilation Fees

Most proctors request a fee to proctor exams. Exam takers are responsible for all expenses incurred for this service, unless previously organized through the office@iccp.org. Exam takers may be required to pay proctor fees to the institution that is proctoring their exams.

ICCP pays a fee to the proctor to supervise the exams at all of its locations around the world. Other proctoring locations (universities & colleges) may charge exam takers separate fees for the cancellation and/or rescheduling of exams.

Exam Regulations

To order an exam, complete and submit the online Examination Application Form (www.iccp.org/iccpnew/applicationform.pdf) After submitting this form, exam takers should discuss their readiness to take the exam with the ICCP office. Next, exam takers locate and provide the name of an appropriate proctor who is willing to supervise their exam at a mutually agreed upon time, date, and place. If exam takers are writing at an exam center at a University or College, they arrange a suitable time to write their exam before they request it from the ICCP.

Once exam takers have submitted their Examination Request Form, it takes a minimum of 15 business days from the time the request reaches the ICCP Office, to receive the exam. The exam will be forwarded directly to the exam center or exam proctor.

Exams written at ICCP headquarters are proctored by the Office on a pre-arranged appointment time, usually at 9.30 a.m. or 1.30 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding public and ICCP holidays).

Unwritten Exams

Occasionally, circumstances arise that prevent a person from writing the exam on the scheduled write date.

With the permission of the proctor, you can reschedule the exam write date. Your new exam date must be scheduled within five business days after the initial write date and must not extend past your exam provision date (usually 90 days within paying for the examination).

Please note that proctors are under no obligation to reschedule your exam and may assess a cancellation and/or rebooking fee.

If you are unable to reschedule within these guidelines, your proctor must return the exam to ICCP within five business days. Next, you must reschedule another date with your proctor that does not extend past your course contract date.

Exam takers who wish to reschedule their exam write date must contact office@iccp.org

This is a list of some of the possible testing sites where you may be able to take the examinations in a Computer Based Testing (CBT) format. All testing arrangements MUST be made by contacting the ICCP office at Office@iccp.org or calling 800/843-8227.

Generally, any certified holder may act as a test proctor and the examination can be taken locally in your city or office using a personal computer, as long as your personal identity can be verified by an Engineer, Accountant, Doctor, Professor, Teacher, Human Resources officer, or work supervisor (generally the same list of people who would qualify to sign your passport application form) at the start and during the complete test delivery.

In Canada the Canadian Information Processing Society has over 30 sections which may act as test centers and in the USA the Association of Information Technology Professionals has some 300 test sites and chapters that are used by the ICCP in addition to a number of universities and colleges.
