ICCP
Approves Three Programs for Test Equivalency
Des Plaines,
IL - Learning Tree International, Net Guru Technologies, Inc. (NGT),
and American Research Group (ARG) have successfully completed an independent
evaluation performed by The Institute for Certification of Computing
Professionals (ICCP), a non-profit computing professional standards
certification institute. The ICCP's test council has determined that
the the respective company's certifications and/or exams are the equivalent
of ICCP exams leading to the CCP(r) (Certified Computing Professional)
and ACP(r) (Associate Computing Professional) professional designations.
Learning
Tree International
The ICCP recently decided to expand the list of Learning Tree professional
certifications that will be accepted in satisfaction of specialty
exam requirements for CCP certification. Previously, Learning Tree's
C and C++ Certified Professional designation was recognized and
could be used to satisfy one of the specialty exam requirements.
Now, based on approval of the ICCP's Test Council, the following
additional certified professional designations from Learning Tree
can be applied toward CCP requirements:

The NGT equivalent certification programs are (CIWSP) Certified
Internet Webmaster Security Professional, to address configuring,
deploying and maintaining Internet security and firewall systems;
(CIWD-I) Certified Internet Webmaster Developer I, for designing
and developing Internet applications, with advanced object-oriented
tools such as Java(r); (CIWNP) Certified Internet Webmaster Network
Professional, for deploying and managing TCP/IP-based enterprise
networks, (CIWA) Certified Internet Webmaster Administrator, for
configuring administering, and supporting Internet and Intranet-related
services, and (CIWPD) Certified Internet Webmaster Professional
Designer, focusing on business use of the Internet. Each of the
NGT certifications count towards one ICCP Specialty exam.
American
Research Group (ARG)
ARG's TCP/IP Network Analyst is an approved course of study leading
to ICCP certification. The ARG certification helps IT professionals
prove their expertise in all areas of TCP/IP, a common internetworking
protocol, to employers, peers and customers. Successful completion
of ARG's TCP/IP Network Analyst professional certification program
will now advance IT professionals toward the ICCP's coveted Certified
Computing Professional (CCP) and Associate Computing Professional
(ACP) designations as the equivalent of one ICCP Specialty Exam
"These programs
have been determined to be the equivalents of ICCP exams leading
to the CCP and ACP designations." stated the current Director
of Certification for the ICCP. "Students who complete any of these
certification programs and pass the examination have demonstrated
that they are competent in the web skill sets that they have studied."
