ICCP Approves Three Programs for Test Equivalency

Des Plaines, IL - Learning Tree International, Net Guru Technologies, Inc. (NGT), and American Research Group (ARG) have successfully completed an independent evaluation performed by The Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP), a non-profit computing professional standards certification institute. The ICCP's test council has determined that the the respective company's certifications and/or exams are the equivalent of ICCP exams leading to the CCP(r) (Certified Computing Professional) and ACP(r) (Associate Computing Professional) professional designations.

Learning Tree International
The ICCP recently decided to expand the list of Learning Tree professional certifications that will be accepted in satisfaction of specialty exam requirements for CCP certification. Previously, Learning Tree's C and C++ Certified Professional designation was recognized and could be used to satisfy one of the specialty exam requirements. Now, based on approval of the ICCP's Test Council, the following additional certified professional designations from Learning Tree can be applied toward CCP requirements:

  • Client/Server Systems Certified Professional
  • Windows NT Systems & Networks Certified Professional
  • Local Area Network Certified Professional
  • Windows Application Development Certified Professional
  • Software Development Certified Professional
  • Java Programming Certified Professional
  • Wide Area Network Certified Professional
  • Internetworking Certified Professional
  • UNIX Systems Certified Professional
  • TCP/IP Certified Professional
  • UNIX Programming Certified Professional
  • Oracle DBA Certified Professional
  • Oracle Application Development Certified Professional
  • Net Guru Technologies, Inc.
The NGT equivalent certification programs are (CIWSP) Certified Internet Webmaster Security Professional, to address configuring, deploying and maintaining Internet security and firewall systems; (CIWD-I) Certified Internet Webmaster Developer I, for designing and developing Internet applications, with advanced object-oriented tools such as Java(r); (CIWNP) Certified Internet Webmaster Network Professional, for deploying and managing TCP/IP-based enterprise networks, (CIWA) Certified Internet Webmaster Administrator, for configuring administering, and supporting Internet and Intranet-related services, and (CIWPD) Certified Internet Webmaster Professional Designer, focusing on business use of the Internet. Each of the NGT certifications count towards one ICCP Specialty exam.

    American Research Group (ARG)
ARG's TCP/IP Network Analyst is an approved course of study leading to ICCP certification. The ARG certification helps IT professionals prove their expertise in all areas of TCP/IP, a common internetworking protocol, to employers, peers and customers. Successful completion of ARG's TCP/IP Network Analyst professional certification program will now advance IT professionals toward the ICCP's coveted Certified Computing Professional (CCP) and Associate Computing Professional (ACP) designations as the equivalent of one ICCP Specialty Exam

"These programs have been determined to be the equivalents of ICCP exams leading to the CCP and ACP designations." stated the current Director of Certification for the ICCP. "Students who complete any of these certification programs and pass the examination have demonstrated that they are competent in the web skill sets that they have studied."
