Data governance is a data management concept concerning the capability that enables an organization to ensure that high data quality exists throughout the complete life-cycle of the data. The key focus areas of data governance include availability, usability, consistency, data integrity and data security and includes establishing processes to ensure effective data management throughout the enterprise such as accountability for the adverse effects of poor data quality and ensuring that the data which an enterprise asset can be used by the entire organization |
Levels of Credential Available
Experience requirements: *1400 hours of Direct Data Governance and/Data Stewardship experience. Foundation Level: 900 hours of direct Data Governance and / Data Stewardship experience. *Experience hours may be completed after examination has been passed. Executive Management Requires passing 4-day* workshop on Data Governance and Stewardship and written assessment passed at 70% of higher. Adherence to the ICCP Code of Ethics. * Due to Covid and remote locations and individuals who may prefer to be single registrants, this course can be taken online with a hybrid learning approach: these include video instruction and topic self assessments and a multiple choice course exam. Instructor will be available for up to one hour per topic (12 topics) for learning support for the duration of the course. Instructor-led sessions to be scheduled between attendee and instructor. Principal Requires one exam be taken (90 minute exam on Data Governance and Stewardship) and passed at 70% or higher. Plus a 2-day mentoring workshop. Plus Significant contributions to the industry. Adherence to the ICCP Code of Ethics. Mastery Requires one exam be taken (90 minute exam on Data Governance and Stewardship) and passed at 70% or higher. Adherence to the ICCP Code of Ethics. Associate/Practitioner Requires one exam be taken (90 minute exam on Data Governance and Stewardship) and and passed at 50% or higher. Adherence to the ICCP Code of Ethics. If you've achieved a foundation credential by taking the foundation level exams you must retake the exams at 90 minute duration (but at a significantly reduced member price) for any of the higher levels which are extended duration and variety examinations. Foundation Assistant Data Governance Professional Requires one exam be taken (60 minute exam on Data Governance and Stewardship) and and passed at 50% or higher.
