Certified Data Scientist
About the Certification
Data Science is an interdisciplinary field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from data in various forms, both structured and unstructured, similar to data mining.Data Scientists are a rare breed. The closest to the need for business are experienced actuaries, who often possess a Master’s degree in statistics or mathematics (pure and applied), and operations research. However, then there is a need for cross subject knowledge of economics, sociology and organizational behavior & communications combined with an understanding of commercial and criminal law, and organizational and government infrastructures. Who could possibly have all those skills which then need to be combined with technological skills? Certain undergraduate programs in Arts combined with Business and Technology now provide such a foundation.
